DAY 147

Whoever Loves Money Is Never Satisfied

Ecclesiastes 5:10
기원전 3세기경 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
אֹהֵב כֶּסֶף לֹא־יִשְׂבַּע כֶּסֶף
📜 THE VERSE

Whoever loves money is never satisfied with money, nor whoever loves abundance with income.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

What I am amassing now — will it ever let me say, "this is enough"?

📝Reflection

It is not that money is evil. What the Preacher targets is "loving money" — the structure of a mind that seeks security through filling. For such a person, income is always a little short, because as the number in the account rises, the baseline of reassurance rises with it. It is the same insight as the Buddha likening craving to a vine. Contentment comes not from earning more but from a mind that draws its own line: "this is enough." Only one who can draw that line first begins to enjoy what they have.

🌱Apply It Today

Write the amount you feel would bring security "if only," and ask: "When I reach it, will I truly stop?"
