DAY 317

Let Endurance Finish Its Work

James 1:4
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
ἡ δὲ ὑπομονὴ ἔργον τέλειον ἐχέτω, ἵνα ἦτε τέλειοι καὶ ὁλόκληροι.
📜 THE VERSE

Let endurance finish its work, so that you may be whole and complete, lacking nothing.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Have I let go of something just before the point where a little more endurance would have finished it?

📝Reflection

James sees endurance as a complete "work." If perseverance stops halfway, the work is left unfinished. I have lost many things almost at the finish. At the very spot where a little more holding on would have done it, I would tire and let go. Endurance has a point of completion, and only by passing through it does a person become whole, lacking nothing. To endure is not to suffer blindly but the art of carrying a process all the way to the end.
