Love Your Neighbor as Yourself
Treat your neighbor as you would treat yourself.
Where have I drawn the boundary of "neighbor"? Whom have I left standing outside that line?
📝Reflection
A legal scholar heard this and asked back, "Then who is my neighbor?" The question itself was an attempt to draw a line — this far, a neighbor; beyond that, not. But this teaching does not answer the line-drawing question; it erases the line altogether. A neighbor is defined not by geographic closeness but by the distance the heart is willing to close. Whoever I approach first becomes, by that very act, my neighbor.
🌱Apply It Today
Offer one small kindness today to someone you have not considered "your own people."
