DAY 103

Seldom Set Foot in a Friend's House

Proverbs 25:17
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
הֹקַר רַגְלְךָ מִבֵּית רֵעֶךָ פֶּן־יִשְׂבָּעֲךָ וּשְׂנֵאֶךָ
📜 THE VERSE

Seldom set foot in your neighbor's house — too much of you, and they will hate you.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

The closer the bond, do I forget the distance it still needs?

📝Reflection

That closeness needs distance, I learned only after losing a few bonds. However good the tie, too much clinging dulls two people to each other and soon becomes a burden. This verse notes that subtle sense of distance coolly. The friendship of the noble is plain as water. To leave while there is still a little longing, to leave the other room to miss you — that space is what makes a bond last.

🌱Apply It Today

In a close relationship today, leave a little space by stepping away while there is still some longing.
